About OSP

Although Olde Souls Press is new as a publishing company, its roots go back to the early 1990s when publisher Joanne DiMaggio founded a past life research, education and therapy organization called PLEXUS (Past Life Exploration, Understanding and Sharing). At the same time, she was serving on the Executive Core Team of the Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. (Association for Research & Enlightenment) Heartland Region, headquartered in Chicago. As a writer with a professional background in advertising, public relations and marketing, she put those skills to work in promoting PLEXUS and the A.R.E. to like-minded souls.

During the course of her work, she met many leading edge therapists, authors, and other professionals representing numerous alternative fields. Being a journalist who had written and published newspaper and magazine articles, her focus was on telling people’s stories—especially those stories that were compelling and life changing yet ignored by the mainstream press. This was especially true of past life experiences, which encountered even more resistance. This void, coupled with the urging of people who had fascinating and compelling stories to share, whet her appetite for starting her own publishing company.

Although that dream has been years in the making, Joanne feels it is something whose time finally has come.  Over the last 15 years, the publishing industry has changed drastically making the ownership of a small press within the grasp of any enterprising person. Joanne used the intervening time to go back to school and obtain her Masters in Transpersonal Studies from Atlantic University. She reconnected with the A.R.E. and revisited the Cayce material, which was used as the basis of Soul Writing: Conversing with Your Higher Self, the first book published under the Olde Souls Press brand.

This is just the beginning.  Upcoming books include the biography of T.J. Davis, the nephew of Edgar Cayce’s secretary, Gladys Davis. T.J. lived with the Cayces for the first nine years of his life and his stories of growing up in the Cayce household are mesmerizing. Olde Souls Press is also proud to be republishing Betty Riley’s book, A Veil Too Thin: Reincarnation Out of Control, which is one of the most documented cases of reincarnation on file. In addition, several of the early A.R.E. Press books that were originally done in the 1950s & 1960s will be republished. These small booklets contain buried gems of wisdom that are so needed at this time in our history. And the list goes on.

Olde Souls Press is aptly named because it reflects the collective wisdom of men and women who inspire, empower and transform others through the written word. May their words will serve as a beacon to light your way as you fulfill your soul’s destiny.
